1. Acceptance and Scope
These Terms of Service govern your use of the website operated by Global Hope Collective Corp, doing business as Hurricane Help Florida (“we,” “us,” or “our”), at www.hurricanehelpflorida.org (the “Site”).
By using the Site, you agree to these Terms to the extent permitted by applicable law. If you do not agree, please discontinue use.
Separate agreements may apply to assistance programs, volunteer activities, events, donations, or other services. If these Terms conflict with a separate agreement, that agreement controls for the specific activity it covers.
Use of the StormResQ mobile application is governed by its own applicable terms and privacy disclosures.
2. Permitted Use
You agree to use the Site lawfully and provide accurate information when submitting applications, registrations, donations, or inquiries.
You may not:
Disrupt the Site or introduce malicious software.
Attempt to access systems, accounts, or information without authorization.
Impersonate another person or misrepresent your identity, circumstances, or affiliation.
Submit fraudulent applications, documents, or payment information.
Collect or misuse another person’s personal information.
Use the Site to harass, threaten, or engage in unlawful conduct.
Use our name or materials to falsely suggest our endorsement or authorization.
If you submit information on someone else’s behalf, you must have appropriate authority or permission to do so.
3. Assistance Applications and Services
Submitting an application, joining a waitlist, receiving a referral, or communicating with our team does not guarantee assistance, funding, repairs, materials, or a particular response time.
Assistance depends on factors such as eligibility, geographic coverage, funding, available resources, program requirements, and an assessment of household needs.
We may request supporting documents or additional information to evaluate an application. Providing inaccurate or incomplete information may delay processing or result in denial or discontinuation of assistance, subject to applicable program rules and law.
Approved assistance may require a separate agreement, authorization, property access consent, or other documentation.
4. Emergency and Professional Guidance
The Site is not an emergency reporting or dispatch service. For an emergency or immediate threat to life or safety, call 911. Follow evacuation orders and instructions from emergency management authorities.
Website resources provide general preparedness, response, and recovery information. They are not a substitute for advice specific to your circumstances from qualified legal, medical, insurance, engineering, construction, or other professionals.
Storm conditions, resources, and official guidance can change quickly. Check current information from relevant authorities before making safety decisions.
5. Referrals and Third-Party Providers
We may provide information about contractors, nonprofit organizations, attorneys, government programs, or other resources.
Unless expressly stated in a separate written agreement, these providers operate independently. A listing, referral, or verification does not guarantee availability, eligibility, licensing status at a future date, workmanship, or a particular outcome.
Before independently hiring a provider, review applicable licenses, insurance, references, pricing, and written contract terms.
These Terms do not eliminate responsibilities we undertake under a separate assistance agreement or responsibilities imposed by law.
6. Donations and Payments
You must be authorized to use the payment method submitted and provide accurate payment information.
Donations support the purposes described in the applicable solicitation. Unless an accepted restriction or specific solicitation states otherwise, donations may support our programs and related operating expenses.
Recurring donations: If you select recurring giving, you authorize charges at the amount and frequency shown during checkout. You may cancel future charges through the donation platform or contact us for assistance. Cancellation does not automatically reverse previously processed charges.
Payment questions and refunds: Contact info@hurricanehelpflorida.org promptly about an accidental or duplicate donation, unauthorized transaction, or other payment concern. Refund requests will be considered under applicable law, processor rules, and any terms disclosed when the payment was made.
Third-party processors handle online payments under their own applicable terms and privacy policies.
Tax deductibility depends on applicable law and your circumstances. When goods or services are provided in exchange for a payment, any deductible amount may be reduced by their value.
7. Events and Volunteer Activities
Event registrations and volunteer opportunities may have separate eligibility requirements, safety instructions, cancellation policies, or participation agreements.
Any applicable registration fees and refund or cancellation terms will be disclosed for the particular event or activity. Participation does not authorize a person to represent or make commitments on behalf of our organization without permission.
8. Intellectual Property
Site content, including text, graphics, logos, photographs, and other materials, belongs to us or its respective owners and is protected by applicable intellectual property laws.
You may view, download, or print our publicly available educational resources for personal, noncommercial preparedness and recovery use, unless a resource states otherwise. Preserve attribution and copyright notices.
Other reproduction, modification, distribution, commercial use, or use of our logos requires permission unless permitted by law or a stated license.
9. Information and Materials You Submit
You retain ownership of materials you submit. You authorize us to use them as reasonably necessary to evaluate your request, administer the relevant program, and perform activities described in our Privacy Policy and applicable consent forms.
You must have the right to submit those materials.
Submitting an application does not itself authorize public use of your identifiable story, testimonial, or photographs. Publicity permissions are addressed separately.
10. Privacy
Our Privacy Policy explains our information practices. Please review it before submitting personal information.
These Terms do not replace any separate authorization required for sensitive information, referrals, media use, or other program activities.
11. Third-Party Websites
The Site may contain links to external websites and services. We do not control their content, availability, security, or policies.
A link does not necessarily constitute an endorsement. Review third-party terms and privacy policies before using their services.
12. Website Disclaimer
To the fullest extent permitted by law, the Site and its general informational content are provided “as is” and “as available,” without warranties of any kind.
We do not guarantee that website information will always be complete, current, or error-free, or that access will be uninterrupted or free of harmful components.
This disclaimer does not override an express commitment in a separate written agreement or rights that cannot legally be excluded.
13. Limitation of Liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, Global Hope Collective Corp dba Hurricane Help Florida and its officers, directors, employees, and volunteers will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from use of, or inability to use, the Site.
Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits liability that applicable law does not permit us to exclude or limit, including liability for fraud, gross negligence, or willful misconduct where such limitations are prohibited.
14. Indemnification
To the extent permitted by law, you agree to indemnify our organization and its officers, directors, employees, and volunteers against third-party claims and reasonable related expenses caused by your unlawful use of the Site, intentional misrepresentation, or infringement of another person’s rights.
This provision does not require you to indemnify us for our own negligence or misconduct.
15. Suspension of Access
We may restrict or suspend Site access when reasonably necessary to address a violation of these Terms, suspected fraud, security concerns, or unlawful conduct.
Restricting website access does not independently determine eligibility for assistance under a separate program agreement.
16. Governing Law and Disputes
These Terms are governed by Florida law, except where applicable law requires otherwise.
Unless another applicable written agreement provides otherwise, disputes concerning these Terms or use of the Site will be brought in state courts in Hillsborough County, Florida, or the federal court serving that county, subject to applicable jurisdiction and any rights that cannot legally be waived.
17. Changes to These Terms
We may revise these Terms and post the updated version on this page.
New or revised provisions apply prospectively from publication or a later date stated in the update. They do not retroactively change completed transactions or existing agreements.
Where required, we will provide additional notice or request affirmative acceptance.
18. General Provisions
If a provision is found unenforceable, the remaining provisions continue to apply to the extent permitted by law.
A failure to enforce a provision does not waive our right to enforce it later. These Terms do not waive rights or protections that cannot be waived under applicable law.
